OBSBOT December Update

We're excited to share some new updates for OBSBOT Talent, Tail Air, Tiny 2, Tiny 2 Lite, and UVC to HDMI Adapter 2nd Gen in this final month of 2024! Making it easier to improve your video workflow efficiency. Let's see what we've achieved and how powerful these updates are!

OBSBOT Talent Firmware Update

OBSBOT Talent has added new features for creators. This update is also for the Tail Air Smart Remote Controller. After pairing with OBSBOT Talent, Tail Air Smart Remote Controller can control other UVC Cameras and OBSBOT Tail Air through UVC mode.

Scene and GFX

1. Add prebuilt scene presets. Creators can choose different Multi-View layouts to fit your needs.

2. Add more transition effects for the scene switch. After updating, OBSBOT Talent would have up to 7 kinds of transition effects, which are Cut, Fade, DIP, Wipe, DVE, Stinger, and 3D respectively.

3. Add an Album directory in the root directory, easy for users to find recordings, replay event files, and screenshots when adding sources.

4. Add Transparency option for editing video sources. Users can freely adjust the effect of transparency.

5. Supports locking the position and size of the source layer in the scene and GFX editing page. After locking the source layer. The features of Position, Size, Crop, and Frame would be fixed.

6. Add the "Undo" and "Redo" buttons on the scene and GFX editing page.

7. Scene and GFX thumbnails support re-ordering by long-pressing and dragging, and GFX list also supports the "Rearrange/Size". GFX list can adjust 3 different sizes showing on the screen.

8. Add more GFX types, including animated Title, animated Lower Third, and soccer scoreboard.

9. Improve GFX features, including more GFX editing tools, resetting the game time separately, no number limitation for creating a scoreboard/timer/stopwatch, etc.

Show

1. Improve the reliability of Show files.
2. Supports exporting media files and Show Config files together on one show.
3. Add the restriction of a unique show name.
4. On the main screen, if there is no operation for three minutes, it automatically enters full screen, hiding all the buttons and thumbnails. Entering full screen after no operation can be set to 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and Never.

Album

1. Album provides "Record", "Replay" and "Screenshot" tabs to separate file-types.

Encode, Recording, and Streaming

1. Encode supports selecting Audio Source.

2. Encode adds Multi-View as a video source option.

3. NDI stream server supports the Multi-View video source option and also supports selecting Audio Source.

4. Supports starting a stream scheduled later for YouTube.

5. Fix the PTS synchronization issue for ISO recording.

Replay

1. Adds Chromakey option for Stinger. Users can enable this function in Replay Settings. This function allows you to place the photographed person or object in front of the green screen and perform a de-behind to replace it with another background.

2. Supports selecting camera and replay order before starting dual-camera replay.

3. Update Set Event with more significant reminders.

Network

1. Supports redirecting to a captive portal for authentication when joining a Wi-Fi network. Improves the convenience and security of connecting to Wi-Fi networks.

2. Supports USB tethering to share the Internet data connection of a mobile smartphone by connecting the phone with the device through a USB cable. With these features, the mobile network of your cell phone can be used to provide internet access to OBSBOT Talent.

3. Improve the driver compatibility of the 4G Dongle.

System

1. Supports creating and managing shortcuts on the device. Opening the "Settings" and then clicking the  "Shortcuts" to set it up. The shortcut function focuses on  Show, Scene, GFX, Transition, Stream, Record, Video, BGM, Audio Mixer, Scoreboard, Timer, Stopwatch, PTZ, Replace, Webpage, and Others. 

2. Screen color corrected, supports customizing the display color.

3. Supports showing Hotspot info in Control Center.

4. Supports RGB24 format for USB-C output.

5. Display the "Reboot" button on the device after Web UI firmware upgrading finishes.

Shortcuts

1. Add the Wait function for Shortcuts to set a pause between two functions. Users can customize the duration from 50ms to 10000ms.
2. Supports editing a created Shortcut function.
3. Supports re-ordering shortcuts list.
4. Supports switching to the Preview scene.

Web UI

1. Web UI supports adding Global BGM. BGM is shared by all scenes, which can continue to play when switching scenes. Global BGM can be overridden by a scene's private BGM.

2. Web UI adds a separate Replay tab page on the Produce page for easy replay control.

3. Web UI supports showing Hotspot info on the Dashboard page.

4. Web UI changes the Record tab to Album, which provides "Record", "Replay" and "Screenshot" tabs to separate files so that users can easily find the file needed.

2. Added support for adjusting white balance red and blue gains via VISCA when connecting Tiny 2 to the UVC to NDI Adapter.
3. Fixed known bugs.

OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite Firmware Update

For Tiny 2 Lite users, here are the key updates:

1. Compatible with Tail Air Smart Remote Controller functionality when connecting OBSBOT Talent via UVC.
2. Fixed known bugs.

OBSBOT UVC to HDMI Adapter 2nd Gen

For OBSBOT UVC to HDMI Adapter 2nd Gen, here are the key updates:

1. Adapted for OBSBOT Meet 2.

a) Supports adaptive landscape, portrait, and inverted modes.

b) Compatible with Meet Remote Control.

2. Adapted for the portrait mode of OBSBOT Tail Air.
